JELLABIET FEYSUL (AP) EGYPT(1) A ca. 1842 grey Kuhaylah- Jallabiyah mare of the strain from the Ajman, obtained from Mohammed Ibn Khalifa of Bahrain and imported ca. 1846 to Egypt for Abbas Pasha by Feysul ibn Turki As-Sa'ud. Also called Wazira/ Waziria. NOTES: The above information (except for the dates, alternate names and color) is from a photographic reproduction of Lady Anne Blunt's handwritten herd book entry for Feysul (Upton, 1980, p8). The additional information form Carl Raswan's Index entry #10941, which also shows Jellabiet Feysul as a grey mare bred by the Ajman tribe, later obtained by Ibn Khalifa. According to the Amiri Stud Book of Bahrain, the original Kuhaylah-Jallabiyah mare of Bahrain was acquired ca. 1800 from the Atayban tribe. Dam of : Bint Jellabiet Feysul (EGY) ca. 1860 -m [sired by Shuwayman As-Sabbah (AP) Sherara (APS) ca. 1862 g m by Sayyid (AP) (See her entry, p. 127.) JATHIMAH (AP) EGYPT (I) A ca. 1850 grey Kuhaylan-Jallabiyah mare bred by Mohammed Ibn Khalifa, Ra'is of Bahrain, later owned by Tuwayni Ibn Al-Sayyid Sa'id (Sharif Sa'ad) and imported prior to 1855 to Egypt for Abbas Pasha. By a Dahman-Kuhayhir of Tuwayni Ibn Al-Sayyid Sa'id out of a Kuhaylah-Jallabiyah. NOTES The above information is from entries #4273 and #4383 in Carl Raswan's Index. A mare of this description is referenced as the dam of Miskah (AP) in the Abbas Pasha manuscript published in Prince Mohamed Aly's book, Breeding Pure Bred Arab Horses, part 2 p. 88. Dam of: Waziri Al-Auwal (AP) ca. 1850s -s by Najib (AP) BINT EL BAHREYN (KDV) EGYPT(1) An 1898 bay Dahmah-Shahwaniyah mare bred by Rais Issa Ibn Khalifa of Bahrain and imported in 1903 to Egypt as a gift for Khedive Abbas II. Purchased in 1907 by Lady Anne Blunt for Sheykh Obeyd Stud, Egypt. NOTES: The above information (except for the color, which is from Sheykh Obeyd records) is from the RAS History, p,. 1902, which is consistent with the Sheykh Obeyd herd book (Pearson, 1988, p. 144), which also adds the color.
